‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Robber Cited In 11 Heists

SEATTLE – A dowdily-dressed woman who may be responsible for as many as 11 area holdups was arrested yesterday after she allegedly robbed a third Alaska USA FCU branch.

The woman, dubbed the “Mrs. Doubtfire Bandit” for her resemblance to the lead character in the 1980s hit movie, was identified by credit union employees and other witnesses and arrested after she hit the Kent branch of Alaska USA.

A 53-year-old Des Moines, Wash., resident, the woman initially will face a charge in the latest robbery in Kent, Gutt said. But investigators suspect her involvement in as many as 11 other robberies in Seattle, Edmonds, Burien and Des Moines since April of 2010.
