ROCKVILLE, Md. – NCUA said it has granted a broad TIP charter to National Institutes of Health FCU that will enable the $490 million credit union to serve anyone in the health services field in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia or West Virginia.
The credit union currently serves hundreds of select groups in those states.
The Trade, Industry or Profession Charter will cover anyone who works in: birthing centers; blood, organ and tissue banks; emergency medical care; ambulatory care providers; health clinics; health rehabilitation centers; health maintenance organizations (HMOs); medical facilities home health care; hospices; hospitals; medical and diagnostic labs; medical transcription services and nursing homes; offices of chiropractors; surgeons; dentists; orthopedics; licensed therapists; optometrists; physicians; podiatrists; psychologists; psychiatrists; orthopedists; radiologists; ophthalmologists; pain centers; paramedic services; medical research facilities; pharmacy services and rehabilitation centers providing medical treatment.
