ALEXANDRIA, Va. – As credit unions in portions of the Northeast this week assess damage to their own operations and to the lives of their own members from the heavy rains, NCUA has activated its emergency assistance program.
Affected are credit unions in Delaware, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The NCUA program encourages credit unions to make loans with special terms and reduced documentation to affected members; reschedules routine examinations of affected credit unions if necessary; and guarantees lines of credit through the NCUSIF, along with other assistance.
