O Bee CU Helps Navigate 'Amazing Money Maze'

TUMWATER, Wash. – O Bee CU has come up with a different way to teach kids about finances while having fun.

The credit union is staging an "Amazing Money Maze" at the Rutledge Corn Maze, two separate mazes made of corn that will require people to answer financial questions on savings, budgeting, investing, debt and identity theft in order to move on to the next step, and eventually get out of the maze.

After reviewing the questions and answers, participants get their checkpoint card punched to enter to win a weekly prize drawing.

The event is being staged in partnership with the Olympian newspaper and the Washington state Department of Financial Institutions.

There are two separate corn mazes, a 1.2-mile maze and a 1.8-mile maze. In each maze there are six checkpoints. At each check point there is a fun financial question and answer on subjects like savings, budgeting, investing, debt, credit, identity theft, retirement, college, insurance, credit score, checking/debit, and housing.
