Pentagon FCU, Foundation, Allied Solutions Honor Injured Soldier

Pentagon FCU here has established a fund to assist a young Army sergeant Dale Beatty as he works to recover from having both of his legs amputated below the knee, after he hit a landmine while stationed in Iraq. Beatty, his wife, Belinda, and their two young boys have been living in the Fisher House, a home for families of military personnel receiving treatment or rehabilitation at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. While there, President Bush, visited the Fisher House and presented Beatty with a purple heart.

Saying they wanted to honor Beatty's sacrifice, PFCU and its Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation selected him to represent the credit union on an annual incentive trip sponsored by American Mercury Insurance Group for its top-producing accounts. Beatty, along with his wife, was sent to Manzanillo, Mexico where he was joined by other credit union representatives.

"It was obvious from the trip that Dale has an exceptionally positive mental attitude, not expecting any special treatment as a result of his injuries," said Debbie Price, training maager from Allied Solutions, who went on the trip. Allied Solutions manages the product relationship between PFCU and American Mercury.
