Philadelphia’s Sb1 FCU Converts To Community Charter

PHILADELPHIA – Sb1 FCU has converted to a community charter serving about 640,000 residents in the city of Philadelphia.

The $540-million credit union was chartered to serve employees of what was then pharmaceutical manufacturer SmithKline and French Laboratories.

“We will now be able to provide superb financial products and services in most neighborhoods south of Lehigh Avenue,” said Tom Swierzy, Sb1’s president of 30 years.
