Prior To Election Results, Thredgold Suggests Race Is 'Obama's To Lose'

DALLAS-By the time many Credit Union Journal readers read this, results of the 2008 presidential election will be known. Here's one view of the race that was shared exactly one week before this week's election, during last week's Southwest Corporate Economic Forum.

According to economist Jeff Thredgold, the outcome is [Democratic presidential nominee Barack] "Obama's to lose" but he cautioned against expecting much in the way of immediate change regardless of who wins the election-despite promises from both Obama and Republican nominee John McCain.

"When a president inherits a budget deficit that could reach $1 trillion soon, the opportunity for new spending initiatives is between zero and none," Thredgold declared.
