SW Corp On The Check 21 Road

DALLAS-Southwest Corporate FCU said it has made presentations to more than 2,500 credit union employees on Check 21 during the past few months. The new law goes into effect Oct. 28. That training has included four webinars, presentations to a dozen chapter and small CU meetings, and 14 regional Check 21 clinics. More meetings are also planned in Texas and Louisiana. "We have been looking at purchasing check scanners for business continuity and to flow into Check 21," said Sandy Gaskamp, Records Management Manager of University FCU, Austin. "After a conversation with (Southwest) and attending the Check 21 Clinic, we've decided to slow down a little and look into putting in a VPN (virtual private network) and improving our connection capabilities through Southwest Corporate."
