CHEHALIS, Wash. – A man who attempted to rob a branch of Twin Star Credit Union here has been found guilty and could be sentenced to life in prison.
Jurors in Lewis County Superior Court jury returned guilty verdicts against Michael Anthony Lar on charges of attempted robbery, kidnapping and burglary. In January, Lar broke into the branch prior to its opening and held an employee at gunpoint when she arrived for work. Another employee contacted police. A responding officer pulled the CU employee out of the door and fired a shot at Lar, who escaped unharmed but was captured later.
Because he is a three strikes offender, Lar likely will face life in prison.
