Salt Creek Credit Union, Westchester, Ill., will merge into Vibrant Credit Union, headquartered in Moline, Ill., on Feb 1.
On Thursday, the two CUs said $8 million Salt Creek CU, which operates a single office, will become part of $561.9 million Vibrant CU. Salt Creek CU’s corporate office will move into the headquarters of Vibrant CU, while Salt Creek’s Westchester office will remain open as a Vibrant CU branch.
Matt McCombs, president and CEO of Vibrant CU, said in a statement, “Vibrant is happy to share our state-of-the-art technology and one-of-a-kind culture with new additions to our staff and membership base. We are living proof that banking is serious, but it doesn’t have to be boring. We cannot wait to introduce this philosophy and culture.”
Former Salt Creek CU staff are being given the opportunity to join Vibrant team, the CU said.
As of December 2016, Vibrant said its assets have grown to almost $562 million.
