'Shift Indiana' Shelved For 2012

INDIANAPOLIS-As Finance Center FCU shifts into 2012, it is shelving its "Shift Indiana" program that aimed to shine a light on non-profits with similar "people helping people" philosophies.

Finance Center FCU here launched the Shift Indiana website early last year as a way to both increase the credit union's social media presence while promoting volunteer opportunities and collaboration with like-minded not-for-profit groups throughout the region ("Finance Center FCU Launches Site To Assist Other Non-Profits," April 11).

But Michael Hostetler, senior marketing manager at the credit union, said that the site was discontinued because "we haven't seen it take off the way we expected in terms of getting additional content from some of the non-profits and charities in our area."

Rather than scrap the concept altogether, Hostetler said that Finance Center FCU would likely retool the site in 2012 to coincide with a new branding campaign the CU plans to run. He added that it would essentially be the same concept, "but much more internally focused with our credit union and the volunteer and outreach programs" in the immediate community around the CU, as opposed to the more regional reach Shift Indiana sought.
