Six Charged In Long Island Checks Scheme

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Six suspects were arrested on charges they forged 10 checks that they then deposited into their own accounts at Nassau County Police FCU.

Nassau County police said all the checks were drawn on the same credit union account in Hempstead. They totaled $5,800.

Police say the defendants stole the personal checks, forged them and then deposited them into their accounts.
