Six Entrepreneurs Win No Interest MBLs From A+ FCU

AUSTIN, Texas – A+ FCU awarded six small business owners no interest $25,000 member business loans as part of a “myBusiness” challenge.

The local entrepreneurs, all minority or women owners, also will receive three-and-a-half months of specialized financial education workshops and additional help developing their business plans from BiGAUSTIN, SCORE, and the Texas State Small Business Development Center.

Business ideas range from The Moon Bakery serving the local food allergy conscientious public to Austin Machining and Welding, which has entered a partnership with Austin Community College to offer tradesman certificates to all levels of fabricators.

“A+ has a desire to empower the entrepreneurial-minded regardless of the current economic climate. This is one more opportunity for us to help people achieve their dreams through life-long financial partnership” said Kerry Parker, president of the $850 million credit union.
