OSHKOSH, Wis. — Two employees of Oshkosh Central CU have been suspended following an investigation by the state's credit union regulator that has uncovered serious financial irregularities at the $28 million credit union.
A recent routine examination by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions revealed the issues, said DFI spokesman George Althoff late last week.
The names of the employees have not been shared. The credit union's board suspended the two employees while the state continues its investigation, according to Althoff.
"The irregularities involve a substantial amount," Althoff told the Wisconsin State Journal, declining to provide specifics. "The examination and investigation are ongoing."
The DFI stated it will turn over information to criminal prosecutors if investigators find evidence of law-breaking.
