GREENSBORO, N.C. – A woman was killed and another one injured in a single-vehicle wreck after the pair sped away from a State Employees’ CU branch where employees suspected them of fraud.
Officers were on their way to the branch where workers called police about a possible felony involving the use of stolen identification to cash a check at the drive-through.
Workers told police that, before officers arrived, the women left the credit union in a vehicle “at a high rate of speed,” with police in chase.
Police said the driver crashed when she lost control in a curve. The woman who survived the wreck was taken to the hospital.
