HINESVILLE, Ga.--Police have arrested a man who allegedly attempted to rob GeoVista Credit Union here on Christmas night.
Timothy Meyers, 44, was captured by police after allegedly setting off an alarm at the CU at 10 p.m. on Sunday night. When police responded they discovered Meyers inside before he ran into a nearby woods, before being identified later walking near the CU and arrested.
According to police, the rear door of the credit union had been forced open and Meyer’s truck was recovered along with tools commonly used to break into properties. Police said the inside of the GeoVista branch suffered extensive damage and that phone lines had been cut.
