The defendants, Keenan Hankerson and Keenon Perrimon, solicited people who had recently closed or unfunded credit union or bank accounts and paid them for their debit cards and PINs. The men then deposited bad checks in the accounts and withdrew the money from ATMs before the deposits were processed and discovered.

They hit Evansville FCU, Heritage FCU, Sterling United FCU, and Fifth Third Bank, Old National Bank and Regions Bank.

The defendants used the money to buy items that included a plasma screen television, a laptop computer and an Xbox 360 gaming console.
