CFO Council Awards $50K In Scholarships
MADISON, Wis.-The CUNA CFO Council has awarded nearly $50,000 in scholarships, which can be used to attend its annual conference or on other educational programs from CUNA. The funds went to 26 CU CFOs and other professionals, based on financial need.

Congress Recognizes 100th Anniversary
WASHINGTON-A congressional resolution recently marked the 75th anniversary of the Federal Credit Union Act. Co-sponsored by Reps. John Larson (D-CT), Paul Kanjorski (D-PA) and Jim Himes (D-CT), the resolution cited the "instrumental role" CUs played in helping Americans recover following the Great Depression and the valuable service they continue to provide today. In North Carolina, Gov. Beverly Perdue issued a proclamation honoring the 100th anniversary of credit unions in the U.S.
NAFCU Unveils New Webcast Studio
ALEXANDRIA-NAFCU has unveiled a state-of-the-art Webcast Studio and Meeting Center. The soundproof studio features four remotely controlled pan-tilt-zoom video cameras, equipment to produce live or recorded webcasts and podcasts, audio conferencing technology and three flat-screen monitors.

Riverset CU Gets Broad Community Charter
PITTSBURGH, Penn. Riverset CU, which converted to a community charter less than two years ago, was approved by state regulators last week to expand to a three-county community encompassing almost two million people. The $100 million credit union, which had been serving residents on the city's East Side, will now serve surrounding Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties. The credit union was known until December 2007 as Pittsburgh Teachers CU.
Invest In America Program Extended
LIVONIA, Mich.-Invest in America has announced that the GM and Chrysler member discount programs have been extended through Dec. 31, 2009, according to the Michigan Credit Union League, which helped spearhead the creation of the program. The league said the terms of the program are flexible and could change from month to month.
GM has announced that for the month of July it is offering a $250 incentive in addition to supplier pricing. The top three states for the program, so far, are Michigan, Texas and Pennsylvania.
