Patriot FCU Gives Members Bonus

CHAMBERSBURG, Penn.-Patriot FCU had declared a special first quarter bonus for its 40,000 members. Interest posted to savings accounts will be increased to 1.5%, retroactive to Jan. 1; a bonus dividend equal to 5% of total dividends earned on all share accounts will be paid, and members who have qualifying loans will receive an interest rebate amounting to 10% of the interest paid in the first quarter.

Patriot Federal anticipates it will return approximately $500,000 to members.

Agility Financial CU Expands FOM

MEMPHIS-Memphis Publishing Co. Employees' Credit Union has changed its name and expanded its FOM. The new name is Agility Financial CU, and the FOM is now open to anyone who lives, works, attends school or worships within the Interstate 240 loop. Residents who live in selected areas of metro Memphis are also eligible.

The credit union was chartered in 1992 to serve employees of the Memphis Business Journal, WMC television and radio stations, and The Commercial Appeal newspaper. The $9.1-million CU serves 1,321 members. It has seen a decline in membership as some sponsors have reduced employment; in 2001, it had $10.1 million in assets.

U.S. Central Elects New Board

LENEXA, Kan.-U.S. Central has named to its board: Joseph Herbst, CEO of Members United Corporate FCU; Greg Moore, CEO of Georgia Central CU; and Kathy Garner, CEO of Northwest Corporate FCU. Herbst was elected chairman, Garner was elected vice chair, Charles Thomas of West Virginia Corporate CU was elected treasurer and First Carolina Corporate's David Brehmer. The board also extended for an additional year the terms of four members of U.S. Central's Supervisory Committee: Bob Siravo, Bill Birdwell; Larry Eisenhauer, and Jim Hansen.

Greater Iowa Unveils New Website

AMES, Iowa-After six months of planning, Greater Iowa has unveiled a redesigned website at www.greateriowacu.org. The redesign was aimed at making the site easier to navigate as well as to upgrade its data security features, the $212-million CU said.
