ALEXANDRIA, Va. – A third man convicted in three armored car robberies, including the February heist of $120,000 from a truck replenishing ATMs at a Navy FCU branch, was sentenced Friday to 32 years in prison.
Christopher Blakeney, 21, and his 20-year-old brother Michael Blakeney pleaded guilty to charges related to the three robberies which netted them more than $360,000. A third accomplice, Carlic Brown, 25, also pleaded guilty.
Michael Blakeney was sentenced earlier to seven years in prison, and Brown is scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
In the last of the three robberies, at about 1 p.m. on April 1, the men, all heavily armed and wearing white skull masks, robbed a Loomis armored car employee who was refilling an ATM near a Bank of America of $160,000.
