American International Group Inc. promoted Anastasia D. Kelly to vice chairman.
Ms. Kelly, who has worked for the New York insurance company since 2006, is an executive vice president, general counsel, and senior regulatory and compliance officer. She is now in charge of communications, corporate affairs, and human resources functions; she will continue to oversee global legal compliance and regulatory matters.
Before joining AIG, Ms. Kelly was executive vice president and general counsel of MCI/WorldCom. She had been MCI/WorldCom's chief legal officer from 2003 until its merger with Verizon in 2006.
The promotion was announced last week.
