Ameriana Bancorp in New Castle, Ind., has agreed to sell an insurance agency.
The $481 million-asset company said in a press release Thursday that it will sell Ameriana Insurance Agency to Pfenninger, Claxton and Estelle Insurance Group in New Castle for nearly $2 million.
The deal is expected to close by the end of this year.
The Jackson, Mississippi, company will use proceeds from the sale of its Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance unit to restructure its investment portfolio, moving $1.6 billion of low-yield securities off the balance sheet.
