Columbia Management, the Boston investment management arm of Bank of America Corp., has hired Patrick J. Ford as managing director and senior portfolio manager for cash investments.
Mr. Ford had been a senior portfolio manager for BlackRock Institutional Management Corp., a New York company partly owned by Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., since 1991.
Columbia had $547.4 billion of assets under management as of March 31. It announced the hiring Tuesday.
