Ballard Spahr Adds Litigators to Its Consumer Financial Services Group

Jay Fastow and Denise Plunkett have joined Ballard Spahr as partners in the firm's New York office.

They will be members of Ballard Spahr's Litigation Department and the firm's Consumer Financial Services and Antitrust Groups.

Fastow and Plunkett were most recently with the firm Dickstein Shapiro. Both have extensive trial experience representing corporate plaintiffs and defendants in courts throughout the country at the trial and appellate levels. They also have years of litigation experience handling governmental investigations and international arbitration cases.

Fastow and Plunkett were hired to further strengthen the firm's consumer financial services practice, according to a press release. They are credited for successfully defending claims under federal and state consumer protection laws, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and state Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices statutes.

In addition both have litigated a wide range of antitrust claims related to antitrust compliance and business planning.

Fastow was named New York City Litigation - Antitrust "Lawyer of the Year" in 2013 by Best Lawyers in America, which followed several recognitions for his antitrust by other industry groups.
