Barclays Global Investors, a San Francisco unit of Barclays PLC, hired Stephen Jobe as director of its iShares 529 programs.
Jobe, whose hiring was announce last week, joined Barclays from Morgan Stanley, where he oversaw the retail 529 college savings plan business as director of education strategies. Before that, he worked for 10 years at Allianz Global Investors, where he launched the CollegeAccess 529 plan in 2002.
Jobe is a director and the legislative committee chairman for the College Savings Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on 529 programs.
