Calif. Bank Appoints Misch as Its CEO

Private Bank of California has named former Bank of New York Mellon Corp. executive David Misch as its chief executive, effective Monday, and made founding director Todd Neilson nonexecutive chairman of its board of directors, effective Jan. 15. The two succeed chairman and former interim CEO Steven Broidy, who is retiring.

Misch, a business and private banker for more than 25 years, was chairman and CEO of Bank of New York Mellon's 1st Business Bank, a commercial bank based in Los Angeles, from mid-2006 to 2008. He subsequently oversaw BNY Mellon Wealth Management's Florida private banking subsidiary.

Neilson, an accountant with expertise in bankruptcy and forensic accounting, co-founded Neilson, Elggren, Durkin & Co. in 1986. Before that, he was a litigation consultant. Neilson began his career as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, specializing in the investigation of white-collar and organized crime.
