Choice Financial in North Dakota to Buy Great Plains National

Choice Financial Holdings in Grafton, N.D., has agreed to buy Great Plains National Bank in Belfield, N.D.

Choice has asked for regulatory approval to buy the $182 million-asset Great Plains, according to a filing with the Federal Reserve Board. The deal is expected to close by Dec. 31, the Bismarck Tribune reported. Terms were not disclosed.

The $662 million-asset Choice will get a boost in the fast-growing western part of North Dakota with the deal. Great Plains has five branches in Dickinson, N.D., and four other towns. Choice is centered on the eastern part of the state, with branches in Grand Forks and Fargo and a branch in Minnesota.
