Citi Adds Chief Personal Wealth Overseer

Citigroup Inc. has announced the hiring of Deborah Doyle McWhinney to head its personal wealth management division, which includes the U.S. network of Citibank branch-based advisers and other financial planning and wealth management services.

In the newly created role, McWhinney is to lead Citi's effort to expand its wealth management and premium personal banking services, the company said last week.

McWhinney retired as president of the Charles Schwab institutional business in 2007. Since then, she has been chief executive officer and president of the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation.
