City National Names N.Y. Head of Private Client Services Group

City National (CYN) in Los Angeles is transferring an executive to become head of its bank's New York private client services group.

The $30 billion-asset company said in a press release Wednesday that Scott Witter will succeed Robin Balding, who is retiring. Witter will lead a group dedicated to providing high-net-worth clients, firms and nonprofits with a range of services that includes investment management, estate planning, wealth management and retirement planning.

Witter previously led City National's private client services office in downtown Los Angeles. Before that, he held a variety of posts at Bank of America (BAC), including treasury operations manager, consumer regional executive, premier banking market executive and private client advisor.

"We are extremely pleased that [Witter] will manage our New York team," Michael Pagano, City National Bank's executive vice president of private client services, said in the release. "He has a long track record as both a consummate leader and also someone devoted to delivering an exceptional experience to our clients — entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and their families."
