Affluent investors' confidence rose in January, Spectrem Group said.
The Chicago company said that its Spectrem Affluent Investor Index rose 3 points in January, to negative-28, returning to mildly bearish territory after two bearish months.
The gain in the investment outlook of households with $500,000 or more in investable assets follows an 8-point increase in December.
The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Index rose 2 points in January, to negative-21, also a mildly bearish reading.
It had its largest advance ever, 16 points, in December.
In response to an open-ended question about the one factor most affecting their investment plans, affluent investors surveyed in January cited: the economic environment (27%); stock market conditions (26%); household cash flow (8%); retirement (7%); household income (5%); and the presidential elections (2%).
The indexes were released on Wednesday.
