Curian Adds Alternatives Asset Class

Curian Capital LLC of Denver, a registered investment advisory firm that provides a fee-based separately managed account platform to financial professionals, has expanded its custom-style portfolios by adding an alternatives asset class.

The class consists of exchange-traded funds whose underlying investments include commodities, foreign currencies, and private equity, the firm said in Monday's announcement.

Curian had $3.2 billion of assets under management as of Sept. 30.
