Essex Savings Names Executives

NEW ENGLAND

Essex Savings Bank in Connecticut has promoted Bruce Ricker to executive vice president.

Mr. Ricker, who joined the bank in 1994, was named a senior lending officer earlier this year. He started as a vice president of compliance and loan administration.

Before joining Essex, Mr. Ricker was a senior vice president in the retail lending department at Farmers and Mechanics Bank in Middletown.

In addition, Essex Savings has promoted Shawn P. Honan to treasurer. He had been an assistant treasurer and controller.

Mr. Honan joined the bank in 1991 as an accounting and operations manager. He had been an auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co., New York.

Liberty Bank, Middletown, Conn., has elected Lawrence D. McHugh to its board.

Mr. McHugh is the president of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce.

Liberty Bank is an independent bank with $1.3 billion in assets.
