Exchange Switch for Vanguard ETFs

Vanguard Group Inc. of Valley Forge, Pa., said 34 of its exchange-traded funds will begin trading on the NYSE Arca exchange on Friday.

The funds currently trade on the American Stock Exchange.

Four Vanguard exchange-traded funds already trade on the NYSE Arca — the Vanguard Mega Cap 300 ETF, the Vanguard Mega Cap 300 Growth ETF, the Vanguard Mega Cap 300 Value ETF, and the Vanguard Total World Stock ETF.

Several large exchange-traded fund providers have shifted their funds to the NYSE Ara exchange over the past several months. On Friday, State Street Global Advisors, State Street Corp.'s investment management arm, announced that it would 75 SPDR exchange traded funds to the NYSE Arca exchange.

Vanguard exchange-traded fund assets under management increased 25% over the past year, to $51 billion as of Aug. 31. Vanguard ranks among the top ETF providers in net cash flow so far this year, garnering more than $14 billion, or about a third of the industry's total, according to the American Stock Exchange.

Vanguard, which announced the change Monday, has $1.25 trillion of assets under management.
