Federated Investors Inc. of Pittsburgh has promoted Gordon J. Ceresino to president of Federated International Management Ltd. and executive director of international distribution.
Ceresino, whose promotion was announced Monday, will retain his title as vice chairman of Federated Investors.
The investment manager is trying to expand its international distribution. It currently distributes its products in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, and it said Ceresino will look for new opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region and other regions.
Among other things, he will oversee the international and global fund and separate account efforts for Germany through Federated's office in Frankfurt, and the United Kingdom sales effort.
Ceresino has worked for Federated since July 2006, when it bought MDTA LCC, a Cambridge, Mass., investment firm. He had been MDTA's chief executive officer. Federated had $409.2 billion of assets under management as of March 31. It has 158 mutual funds and a variety of separately managed accounts.
The company provides investment management to nearly 5,400 institutions and intermediaries, including corporations, government entities, insurance companies, foundations and endowments, banks and broker-dealers.
