Greenhill & Co. Inc., an independent New York investment bank, announced Monday that it had hired Samuel L. Ginn as a senior adviser.
Ginn is to focus on building Greenhill's advisory relationships with companies globally.
He lives in the San Francisco Bay area and is to work in Greenhill's San Francisco office. He retired as chairman of the board of Vodafone Group PLC in 2000. Before that, he was chairman of the board and chief executive of AirTouch Communications Inc. from 1994 to 1999, and chairman of the board and chief executive of Pacific Telesis Group from 1988 to 1994.
Greenhill gives financial advice on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and other financial matters; helps private funds raise capital; and manages merchant banking funds.
