In Brief: ABIA Elects National City Exec as President (Corrected)

Thomas J. Cook, the president of the insurance group at Cleveland's National City Corp., has been named president of the American Bankers Insurance Association for the 2005-2006 year, the Washington-based lobbying group announced.

Mr. Cook has worked at National City since 1999, the association said on Monday. Before that he was the president and chief executive officer of Acordia Inc., a big Chicago commercial insurance brokerage that has since been bought by Wells Fargo & Co.
