In Brief: Acadian Hires Dias as Compliance Chief

Acadian Asset Management, a subsidiary of the global financial services group Old Mutual PLC, announced Wednesday that it had hired Scott P. Dias to be chief compliance officer, a newly created post.

Mr. Dias is responsible for overseeing all of Acadian's compliance-related activities, including audits, procedure documentation and oversight, code of ethics, and legal review.

He was the vice president of compliance and an associate counsel at LPL Financial Services Inc., where he started working in 1996. Previously, he was a staff lawyer in the investment advisory section of the Massachusetts securities division.

Acadian Asset Management managed $9.1 billion of assets for pension funds, endowments, foundations, and other institutions at Sept. 30.
