Acordia Inc., a subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Co., said Monday that it had hired Gary J. Tully to become its managing director for New Jersey on Nov. 29.

Before agreeing to join Chicago-based Acordia, Mr. Tully was the president of Kemper Financial Insurance Solutions. He built a team of professionals there who specialized in directors and officers liability, professional liability, and surety and warranty lines, the company said.
Acordia has 4,500 insurance professionals, and they place more than $6.5 billion of risk premiums a year, employing expertise in property, casualty, benefits, international, personal lines, and life products.
