In Brief: Aegon Board Picks Chairman for April Start

The supervisory board of Aegon NV in The Hague, Netherlands, said Friday that it has elected Dudley G. Eustace to succeed Morris Tabaksblat as chairman at the annual general shareholder meeting April 21.

Mr. Tabaksblat is to step down as chairman upon reaching the end of his current term on that date.

Mr. Eustace has been on the board since 1997 and its vice chairman since April. Mr. Tabaksblat has been a board member since 1990 and chairman since May 2000.

The insurer also said it intends to propose Shemaya Levy as a board member at the shareholder meeting. Mr. Levy worked at Renault for his entire career and, from 1998 until early 2004, was executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Renault Group.
