American Century Investments appointed a Morgan Stanley executive Wednesday to be an executive vice president, with responsibility for the Kansas City, Mo., mutual fund company's financial and administrative functions.
Jonathan Thomas, 42, is to succeed Robert T. Jackson, the company's retiring chief financial and administrative officer, in those roles, the company said. Mr. Jackson, 59, plans to remain a full-time employee through yearend during the transition to Mr. Thomas, American Century said. He will then work part-time until his scheduled March 31 retirement.
Mr. Thomas, who is to start at American Century Nov. 7, was a managing director and the investment management division's chief operating officer at Morgan Stanley, where he had global responsibility for operations, client services, product strategy and development, performance attribution and research, business continuity and planning, and training.
American Century managed more than $95 billion of assets in mutual funds, separately managed accounts, commingled trusts, subadvisory accounts, and institutional class funds at Sept. 30.
