The Blackstone Group, an alternative asset manager in New York, has announced several changes in senior management responsibilities to take effect Jan. 1.
Stephen A. Schwarzman, a co-founder of the firm, is to add chairman to the chief executive officer title he has held since Blackstone's founding 19 years ago but will relinquish the role of president to Hamilton James, a vice chairman, the company said Friday.
Peter G. Peterson, also a co-founder, is to relinquish the title of chairman and assume the newly created post of senior chairman.
