A third of baby boomers are worried about retirement, up from 19% four years ago, according to a survey for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.
Only two-thirds of respondents said they believe they are saving fast enough to maintain their lifestyle, down from 77%. And only 13% think retirement will improve their lifestyle, down from 27%.
Zogby International interviewed 1,366 people online for this year's survey; in 2001 it interviewed 1,208 by phone. MetLife reported the results Thursday.
