Calvert Group Ltd. has announced the start-up of a fixed-income fund, an actively managed long-term corporate bond portfolio that employs a relative-value strategy to produce incremental income.
It introduced the Calvert Long Duration Income Fund on Tuesday. The fund is managed by Calvert Asset Management Co.
Greg Habeeb, a senior vice president and the head of Calvert's taxable bond fund department, is the portfolio's lead manager. He and his team manage $3.9 billion of Calvert taxable, fixed-income assets, including the Calvert Income Fund, Calvert Short Duration Income Fund, and Calvert Social Investment Fund.
The company said it plans to introduce a Web-based tool to help financial professionals manage their clients' durations with proper fixed-income asset allocation. Calvert manages $10 billion of assets for more than 400,000 investors.
