In Brief: Canada Bank, Insurer in Distribution Pact

National Bank of Canada and Canada Life Assurance Co. said Monday that they have agreed to offer banking products and services through the insurer's distribution channels.

Under the agreement Canada Life is to offer through its distribution channels across Canada a range of loan products, including investment loans, under the National Bank name.

Rick Rausch, Canada Life's senior vice president of individual retirement and investment services, said in a press release, "National Bank is an experienced banking product supplier, with the expertise to help us build a customized banking solution that is suited to the unique needs of our distribution channels across Canada."

National Bank of Canada's banking services include retail, corporate, and investment banking; it has assets of $84 billion.
