In Brief: Evergreen to Reopen Small-Cap Value Fund

Wachovia Corp.'s Evergreen Investment Co. LLC says it will reopen its small-cap value fund to investors on Jan. 1.

The investment management unit of the Charlotte banking company announced Friday that its board of directors had approved reopening the fund, which was closed to new accounts on April 8, 2005. The fund managed $432 million of assets at Sept. 30.

Evergreen said it will also accept institutional investors in separately managed small-cap value accounts managed by its J.L. Kaplan Associates LLC unit. Evergreen had $258 billion of assets under management at Sept. 30.
