In Brief: Firstier Financial Earned $52 Million in '94

OMAHA - Firstier Financial Inc. earned $52.0 million for the year, compared with $47.9 million in 1993. On a per-share basis, the company earned $3, up from $2.73 in 1993.

For the fourth quarter, the $3.2 billion-asset company earned $13.5 million, or 78 cents a share, up from $12.4 million, or 71 cents a share, a year earlier.

Noninterest income decreased $124,000 for the fourth quarter and $2.4 million for the year, which the company attributed to a reduction in trust fee income and lower fees from municipal bond underwriting and brokerage services owing to the interest rate environment in 1994.
