The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. plans to build a 450,000-square-foot campus in Windsor, Conn., for its Hartford Life operations.

The new facility will house approximately 2,000 Hartford Life employees. The unit of the Hartford, Conn., based company is a provider of annuities, retirement plans, mutual funds, individual life insurance, and group life and disability insurance.
Hartford Life has been based in Simsbury, Conn., since 1986. The company expects to break ground on the facility in next spring and expects to complete phase 1 of the project by the middle of 2008.
The Hartford had $27.1 billion in revenue last year.
