Janus Capital Group Inc. said growth in assets under management led to a 13.2% increase in fourth-quarter profits from a year earlier, to $37.7 million, or 19 cents per diluted share.
The results, announced Thursday, matched the average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial.
The Boston money manager said that after adjusting for nonrecurring and nonoperating items, net income for the fourth quarter of 2005 was $33.3 million, or 16 cents a share.
Assets under management rose 12.9%, to $167.7 billion.
