Farmers Capital Bank Corp. and Hamburg Insurance LLC have announced the closing of their purchase of Kentucky Home Life Insurance Co.

Kentucky Home Life writes credit insurance in Kentucky through more than 750 licensed agents, the companies said on Friday. The transaction closed Jan. 1.

Farmers Capital and Hamburg Insurance have equal voting interests in the new holding company for Kentucky Home Life. Farmers Capital is a financial holding company in Frankfort, Ky.; it operates 26 banking offices in 16 Kentucky cities.
