In Brief: Marsh Names COOs for Three Business Sectors

Marsh Inc., a New York risk and insurance services firm, named chief operating officers for three of its core business sectors on Monday.

The unit of Marsh & McLennan Cos. named Patricia Hagemann chief operating officer of the Americas; David Lessing, chief operating officer of the U.S. middle market, and Philip Petronis, chief operating officer of global products and services management.

Ms. Hagemann's responsibilities include driving process enhancements and operating efficiencies throughout the firm's operations in the Americas. Previously, she was chief financial officer of North America operations.

Mr. Lessing joined Marsh from Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was managing director and chief operating officer of its direct division. Previously, he led the Americas strategy group of Merrill Lynch and was responsible for developing and executing key brokerage business initiatives.

Mr. Petronis has been with Marsh and other Marsh & McLennan companies for more than 32 years. Most recently, he was an executive vice president and chief financial officer of Guy Carpenter, and a member of its executive committee.

Marsh has 26,000 employees and annual revenues approaching $5 billion. Marsh & McLennan has 55,000 employees and approximately $12 billion of annual revenues.
